UNT (ENT), SAT and IELTS test different things. UNT is Kazakhstan’s national exam for local universities. SAT and AP are College Board exams used abroad and by some international programmes. IELTS measures English for study and visas. At Seitzhan School in Shymkent these tracks share one campus: in-depth English, mathematics, career guidance in the upper grades, and an official College Board Level-2 centre.
Three exams, three calendars
- UNT — national content, Kazakh or Russian medium, high stakes for local admission.
- SAT / PSAT / AP — reasoning, English and subject papers; hosted on campus as a College Board Level-2 centre.
- IELTS — listening, reading, writing, speaking; needs years of English groups, not a two-month cram.
A school that only “adds IELTS after lessons” usually fails the speaking and writing papers. Seitzhan School splits English by level and runs an English Speaking Club and debate (Kazakh and English) among about 20 clubs.
Why a College Board centre on campus matters
Families in Shymkent otherwise travel for SAT dates. An official Level-2 centre means students can sit SAT, PSAT and AP at school. That does not replace practice; it removes logistics as an excuse.
The pathway from grade 0, not from grade 11
Exam papers reward habits built earlier: Singapore Math for modelling, PBL for research and speech, and trilingual study for switching languages without panic. Career guidance in the upper grades then maps a student toward Kazakh or foreign universities.

Questions parents ask
- Does Seitzhan School prepare students for UNT, SAT and IELTS?
- Yes. The programme includes systematic preparation for UNT (ENT), SAT and IELTS. The school is an official College Board Level-2 centre, so SAT, PSAT and AP can be taken on campus.
- What is a College Board Level-2 centre?
- It is an official College Board status that lets a school host SAT, PSAT and AP exams on its own campus instead of sending families to another city or centre.
- When should preparation start?
- Language and mathematics foundations start in primary school (English groups, Singapore Math in grades 1–4, PBL in 1–9). Dedicated exam courses belong in the upper grades. Starting everything in the last year is usually too late.
- Do you publish average SAT or IELTS scores?
- This article does not invent statistics. Ask the admissions team during a visit for the latest figures they are willing to share for a given year.
